About
Welcome to Fearzine, an independent games media group all about horror video games. FEARZINE’s magazine celebrates indie horror and physical media through a lovingly curated publication dedicated to the developers, gamers, games, and stories outside mainstream coverage. We spotlight fresh voices, underground releases, and the artistry that makes the horror community so unique. Every issue is packed with insightful features, interviews, essays, and reviews, delivered in a beautiful, tangible format you can hold, share, and cherish.
FEARZINE is more than a magazine; it’s a mission to keep the spirit of independent horror and physical media alive.
FEARZINE is developed by a collective of passionate individuals dedicated to creating a throwback magazine inspired by the publications we enjoyed during gaming’s formative years. Our goal is to support outstanding indie developers by showcasing their games and stories in ways that match that excellence.
FEARZINE is a physical media project centered on our flagship magazine, featuring cover stories on the most exciting indie-developed horror titles, meaningful critique and exploration of the genre as a whole, interviews with developers, players, and creators, and so much more. For those who do enjoy a device-oriented read, we offer a digital version of the magazine with interactive features such as direct links to games. As of Issue #5, all physical magazine purchases include a free digital copy!
FEARZINE offers additional articles and expanded pieces that are hard to fit within the confines of a page on our website, FEARZINEMagazine.com, such as full versions of interviews or timely impressions of exciting titles. Premium content, including deeper insights, podcasts, streams, and more, can be found on our Patreon page.
Our mission statement: Fearzine features independent horror games and developers with a focus on horror games and nostalgia. We will champion our staff and celebrate their work, in and out of Fearzine. We pride ourselves on being an inclusive community that supports all creators regardless of race, religion, or sexual orientation. We do not accept hate and will not affiliate with those who do.
We avoid the use of generative AI in all aspects of what we do. Everything is human-made.
